feelbettereveryday.co.uk ~ self-care for your mind, body, heart and soul. Integrative clinical supervision, counselling, therapeutic coaching, yoga and more. In Witham and Colchester, Essex (and worldwide via telephone and Vsee or Skype)
While all workshops are bespoke for your specific group, some popular themes include: stress management, motivation, time management, confidence, assertiveness, work-life balance, digital detox, resilience and many more.
While some involve sitting and talking, others incorporate yoga, meditation, relaxation and other tools.
I've facilitated workshops, given talks, taught yoga and run courses for organisations including Bank of New York - Mellon, AgeUK, Harris City Academy, Crystal Palace, PCP, Hoxton Health at St Leonard's Hospital, the Guild of Health Writers, Athena Network, the Department for Work and Pensions, Essex Reflexologists, Wellbeing Breaks, Phoenix Aid and the Women Writer’s Network.
In addition to facilitating larger groups mostly across Essex and London, I've run workshops and courses in other locations including Manchester, Leeds, Sarajevo and Spain.
I also offer one to one work, face to face (in Essex and London) and via Vsee and Skype worldwide and for follow up sessions if appropriate.
My therapeutic background means that while helping individuals focus on results, I can also support depth work when necessary.
While the idea of holistic health and wellbeing at work can sound fluffy, stress accounts for up to 90% of visits to GPs, exacerbates many other health issues and impacts performance at work. Hiring freezes and people doing two (or more) people's jobs while fearing for their own job security can increase the negative elements of stress and lead to anxiety, burnout and a host of other issues.
Case study - AgeUK Lewisham
AgeUK Lewisham got in touch wanting me to help some of their staff better manage the stress involved with looking after a vulnerable population. I put a proposal together outlining potential workshops lasting a day, half a day or 90 minutes.
They opted for the half day workshop and I went to south London to work with the small team. As well as some psychoeducation around what happens to the body and brain when we're stressed, I shared several self-care tools, also facilitating a space for them to share with each other. They were already a cohesive team and were willing to experiment with a wide range of tools including some NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), yoga and mindfulness.
'A big thank you from the team for your session,' said their manager, Camilla Biggs, afterwards. 'There was a lot of really positive feedback and people wanted me to pass on how useful and very personalised to their individual roles and feelings on techniques for self-care you were.'
It was a pleasure working with them.
